At least he's showing an affinity for plants? |
Perhaps the view is better from up there? |
Good kittens don't chew through plastic food containers (this one had cat food inside it. how did they know?!)
Good kittens also don't jump on hot stoves, practice tight rope walking on the stair banisters or chew your shoelaces.
Archie and Teddy aren't exactly good kittens. They are highly intelligent, curious and loving kittens which makes them a challenge but an enjoyable one.

This means they will attempt gymnastics on the antique clothes drying rack.

They will refuse to get out of the tub when they have discovered the joys of dripping water.
I wouldn't trade either one for a good kitten. That would just be boring.
To me all kittens are cute, good, naughty, or inbetween. Yours are adorable.
ReplyDeleteJen
Thanks Jen, we love them but boy they do know how to be naughty!
ReplyDeleteYou are brave having two young kittens at the same time. ha... like you say, never a dull moment. FUN.
ReplyDeleteBrave or just naive? I honestly didn't realize it would be twice the trouble. Somehow I had this vision they would keep each other occupied ... instead they split up and create havoc in two places at once.
DeleteThey are certainly getting into mischief - but funny with it - you have to laugh don't you. They are so cute and innocent looking too. In no time at all they won't be kittens any longer and you will miss their antics and life will be quieter - well that's the theory anyway.
ReplyDeleteMischief if their middles names! I've come to realize it's just curiosity that leads them into trouble, they don't mean to be bad, but good grief they know how to tear the place up. It seems the older they get the more they can get into.
DeleteEnjoy these naughty kittens, they are so adorable, soon they will be grown up and much more quiet. I love the picture with the kitten hanging in the curtains, haha.
ReplyDeleteYou're too right Janneke. Already we can see how much they've grown in the last couple months. They aren't really kittens anymore but mini-cats.
DeleteAdorable..just adorable!!
ReplyDeletelucky for them, they're too adorable to get mad at.
DeleteWhat an adorable pair of troublemakers! I bet they keep you busy.
ReplyDeleteAll day and night. It's not unusual to hear a crash in the middle of the night and wonder what they've done now.
Deletewhen Henry was a tiny kitten, he used his grappling hooks to climb our trousers. Or legs. Hurts!!
ReplyDeleteThat's the perfect description Diana. I am trying to break them of that habit as I have small scratches all up and down my legs. Ouch!!
DeleteI grew up with cats and love how sassy they are, except when they would hide under the furniture and attack our ankles. Ouch! Yours look like fun! :o)
ReplyDeletethankfully they haven't learned that trick yet! oh dear, I think I just jinxed myself :)
DeleteMarguerite girl kittens are like toddlers .. you have to watch them constantly because they simply have to get into trouble one way or another ! haha .. Archie and Teddy are adorable ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou asked about a hardy lavender .. I have been able to bring Provence lavender through the winter along with a few others but each year is a test .. I am waiting to see how the cultivar Èllagance Purple has done .. I planted a lot of them in different sites .. I think the saving element is to have sandy well drained soil .. they can`t survive wet feet .. and need as much sun as you can find them.
You are right about the smell .. my two favorites are rosemary and lavender .. just love them to bits ! so worth drying to have over the winter .. keeps me almost sane waiting for garden season ! haha
Take care !
Joy : )
Thanks Joy, they are adorable but you're right, they need constant watching.
DeleteGood point about the lavendar, I think it's the well drained soil that is the trick. Too much clay here and the ground heaves so much over winter. Perhaps if I had a raised bed it would last.
I love the photo of one of them hanging from the curtain--just made me laugh:) Archie and Teddy may not exactly be "good" kittens, but I bet they're snuggly and lovable all the same--adorable!
ReplyDeleteSnuggly is a great word for them. They're soft as can be and they purr so loud. We all love a good cuddle.
DeleteThey are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think kittens are purposefully made adorable so you can't possibly get mad at them.
DeleteLOL - I just love it.
ReplyDeleteI shared this with my boys. :-))
We all love cats in this house.
thanks Carla. hope they enjoyed the video. I couldn't believe Archie just took it upon himself to fetch a mouse. one of his favourite games now.
DeleteBut they're so adorable that it's hard to get mad at them, isn't it?? :)
ReplyDeletesure is, they just look at you with those big eyes and you melt. I also try to remember that they're still learning about their world so they need to explore everything. even if that means climbing the curtains.
DeleteAaah, I remember that ‘hanging from the curtains’ stage – it’s a long time ago, almost 13 years ago since I last had kittens but boy is it fun. Enjoy it while it lasts, it’s a lot of work but you will miss it when they just eat and sleep and go out :-)
ReplyDeleteso true Helene. Our older cats hardly play at all so it's a great joy to watch these guys wrestle and run around. Some days I get tired of cleaning up knocked over plants though. Wish they didn't like flowers quite so much.
DeleteBad kittens provide much more entertainment. Cute pictures.
