Happy Blogday!

Canoe Corner is 2 years old today!

Hard to believe I'm coming upon my third season in the garden this spring.  In some ways I'm surprised at how little we've accomplished.  I had expected more renovations completed in the house after all this time and the gardens a bit further along.  However, in other ways I'm thrilled with where we are.  We've got a lot to be grateful for.  There will be strawberries and asparagus in the vegetable garden this spring and plenty of room for a wide assortment of other vegetables.  I have an extra large flower bed that is stuffed full of perennials that will start to put on a show this year.  We've planted trees and shrubs that are established and beginning to show some growth.

Perennials are already starting to push through the soil
Inside the house we have proper heating, a new bathroom, and as my latest posts have shown the piano room is near complete.  Coming up this season we'll put a new roof on this old girl.

Tree buds are starting to swell in our recent warm weather
Overall it's been a wonderful couple of years and I'm looking forward to many more.

Now about that new roof!! Been there, was a wonderful experience and learned a lot. Your roof is more complicated though, so demands careful attention heh!

So good to see your buds starting to swell and perennials poking through. My epimediums are uncurling, which is a delight and have two crocus in bloom...count the positives heh!!

Happy Birthday! I relate to your sentiments. I often feel like I should have accomplish so much more in the house and garden. I suppose it is about time and patients. Good luck with your roof! That is a big undertaking but I am sure will look amazing. Sounds like you have planted a wonderful vegetable garden.

Happy Happy Garden Bday. I'm right about where you are too, expecting some happy returns on this third "leap" year. I'm also right where you are in the house renovations. Not. Moving. Very. Fast.

Happy Blog Anniversary. Yes, it is hard to believe 2 years has gone by that fast. I've enjoyed reading about your garden and the old house. Reminds me of the old farm house we lived in. Come by my blog sometime for a chat. I took a long blog holiday but I think I'm back at least until I get busy again, lol.

Happy Blogday Marguerite!! So glad I found your blog and have enjoyed sharing your gardening adventures - both the good and the bad. I've learned a lot from your posts about VOLES and how to care for apple trees and then getting to meet you "in real life" was such a treat!!

Congrats on the anniversary and on all you've accomplished. Progress in the beginning is slow, with a new garden or with a house, then one day in a few years you turn around and say "wow", look at it now!

Congratulations on your blogaversary, Marguerite! I'm sure you think progress on your house and garden is going slowly, but I think you have accomplished so much in such a short time. Love the cream-colored walls in your piano room!

Happy Blogiversary!
It has been a fun journey reading all your post and I feel like we are gardening together. I bet you will be starting your seedlings soon and it would be too funny if we both started them on the same day.
You truly have a wonderful blog site and it makes my day reading all your events that are happening around you and your husband.
I think a toast is in order for you and your hard working hubby!

Happy Blog Anniversary: I think you are blessed to have lived on the island for a couple of years already, I can't wait! I think what you both have accomplished is rather amazing..both inside and out. After all it has to be accomplished on weekends and in your spare time..I find in order not to feel like we have so much ahead of us, I must think of what we have accomplished..I hope to dig up plants to move out this year and sure wish my beds were prepared as well as yours are..You are terrific..happy gardening Lannie

Happy, happy Blogaversary. I know how you feel, it seems time goes by, and you don't accomplish as much as you would like to.

belated Happy Blogday Marguerite,

I think we expect too much of ourselves and then we think things are moving slowly, you have achieved a lot in 2 years and overcome the obstacles along the way,

good to see those new shoots pushing through, Frances

Marguerite, Happy anniversary and happy Easter! It sounds to me that you have accomplished a lot of things in two short years! You and your husband should be very proud. I look forward to year 3.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind comments. It's been such a joy to meet all of you over these last couple years. Blogging wouldn't be the same without my blogging buddies!

Marguerite, I'm really late to the party -- but happy birthday to both your blog and your garden, and may both continue to develop and provide you (and your readers) with enjoyment in the years to come. -Jean
