Garden Tour Finale

My apologies for taking so darn long to get these photos posted.  August slipped right past without me even noticing.  Let's take a look at those last two gardens shall we?

A group of volunteers and garden owners did a pre-tour a couple nights before the big day.  We scurried as fast as we could but by the time we got to the last garden we were losing the light.  I apologize for the slightly fuzzy photos of this garden.  The place was magnificent but my camera wanted more sun.  We parked up on the road and took a long walk down the drive.

An impressive start.

I don't think anyone was disapointed when we finally got down to the main house and gardens.

This garden was nothing short of spectacular.

Several acres located right at the seashore and perfectly tended.  Exploding with trees, shrubs and plants of all shapes and sizes.

I wish I had written down some of the names of the plants as this garden had an amazing collection of trees that you don't often see.  The owner is a bit of a collector.

This beautiful gate led into a charming flower garden loaded with annual flowers and lots of shade loving perennials.

Everything, and I mean every square inch of this place, was perfectly tended.

I have never seen such an exquisite vegetable garden.  Most impressive of all is that this garden is lovingly tended by just two people.  Every bit of lawn mowing, weeding and mulching is cared by a pair of gardeners who obviously LOVE what they do.

My only complaint - MORE TIME!!  I could have easily spent a whole afternoon checking out each and every tree.  I saw a Dawn Redwood, some sort of Japanese Pine and what I'm pretty sure was a Stewartia but I didn't have near enough time to check out each individual tree that caught my eye.  Next year perhaps?

The final stop on the big tour was the tea party.

Yes, a real tea party.  Fine china and everything.

Live music.

Who doesn't want to be serenaded in a beautiful garden while sipping tea and eating cookies?

Wouldn't you like to take a seat?

Not to mention the view

This garden sits on a hill overlooking our beloved Canoe Cove.  An amazing way to wrap up a fantastic tour.

I'm so glad to say I got to be a part of this tour.  I was really impressed with how the gardeners went out of their way to make everything perfect for visitors.  No detail went undone.  The gardens were beautiful, porches were decorated, there were containers of flowers everywhere.  It was such an impressive display and I think everyone enjoyed it.  The best news of all is that we managed to raise over $3,000 for Hospice PEI

I can see why you would want more time here. What interesting plants. I could use a nice cup of tea right now.

This reminds me of one of the stops on our annual MG tour this summer--a huge country garden with such a diverse selection of trees and shrubs. But by the time we got there, the sky was threatening and we had to hurry through before the clouds burst--which they did:) But I found out they hired three people full-time to help maintain their garden. This garden is even more amazing, knowing that the owners maintain it themselves--they must spend every minute outdoors!

Totally Amazing!
The work can be seen in every detail of the flowers, and walkway. So glad they let you shared their beautiful space.
I think I would love to go on the garden tour next year.
Tea Time looked yummy.
I bet they have a lot of Fall Mums to show case their garden in the Fall.

From what I understand Rose they really do spend all their time in that garden. It certainly shows. I wish my place looked half as well tended. and I was quite envious of their tree collection.

It was quite the spread. I was a host at one of the other gardens and by the time I got back all the food was long gone :) think it went over well..

We had a great response so there's a possibility we'll do this again next year. It was a lot of work to organize but I think we all had a good bit of fun.

What a wonderful garden - I could never hope to keep mine as neat as that - they must have worked their socks off before you lot arrived.I think it does us all good to see other people's gardens for inspiration - I bet you went home full of new ideas.

Thanks for the tour, a lovely garden! I like gardens that are tidy and organised and spend a lot of time in my garden trying to make it look nice, neat and tidy. It was a good idea to have all the flowers edging the vegetable beds, looking great!

What gorgeous gardens..I can't imagine how on earth those people manage to keep it so beautiful..but they do.

Muddy Boot Dreams has moved to a new spot, if you could update your links that would be great.

I am amazed at how impeccable that garden is! Oh, I would love to have that beautiful edged pathway, and that dark mulch/compost in my flower beds. And the vegetable garden is such a delight! I always spray grass all over my flower beds when I mow. I don't think that would be allowed in this garden! Thanks for the tour! Something to aim for!

What an incredible garden! They must garden 8 hours a day!

This garden just astounded everybody I think. Knowing it's just the two of them and how immaculate it is. I spray grass everywhere too :) I like to think of it as cheap mulch

I do wonder how many hours it takes ....
