Merry Christmas Everyone!

We've had snow.

and rain.

and ice.

I've quit counting how much.

I'm just glad we have electricity.

So we can enjoy the pretty Christmas lights and eat hot turkey.

Merry Christmas to everyone wherever you are.  We wish you peace, joy, a cozy blanket and a warm fire.  Best wishes, Marguerite

Merry Christmas, Marguerite. I'm glad to know that you haven't lost power there. Mine went out for an hour just as we were eating Christmas dinner -- good timing since the food was all cooked and it was fine to eat by candlelight. But there are people in downeast Maine who have been without electricity for a week now and may not get power restored until after the New Year -- and there's apparently another storm heading our way this weekend. Yikes! We seem to be having an old-fashioned winter. -Jean

Thank you, the red floor does seem quite christmassy doesn't it? First year putting the tree in that room and I really like it.

I think you're right Jean, people are starting to talk around here about what winter used to look like and this seems like we're on track for one of those old style winters with snow to the rooftops. Very glad to hear your power came back on quickly, there are many people in Canada still waiting for power as well. It's been a tough holiday this year for many.

It all looks very twinkly and festive Marguerite. A happy and peaceful New year to you.

Merry (belated) Christmas, Marguerite. I agree, electricity is a good thing, and we're prone to losing it a lot here in the winter. We've had quite a bit of ice too, but I'll let you keep the snow though ;) Happy New Year!

The same to you as well, Marguerite and Jody. I hope you enjoy this last day of the year and celebrate in whichever way you can. Having electricity makes it all the more comfortable))) We'll be watching the ball drop I expect and then zzzzzzzzzz . Happy New Year and many more.

Thanks Jane, it took me some time to get up the energy to decorate but once in the mood the season took over!

Happy new year to you too Clare! We had a close call here when a transformer blew but luckily it was repaired quickly and we've had no issues since. Many people on Canada's east coast weren't so lucky this year though, thousands without power throughout the whole week of Christmas. We were counting our lucky stars. Hopefully now the ice will stay away.

Brenda, if I make it to the ball drop I'll be surprised :) Days of endless snow shoveling have me right tuckered out this year. Happy new year to you and may we meet again in the new year.

Hi Marguerite - thank you for your email, much appreciated. I'm glad to hear you're warm and safe. It's been quite the blast of winter already and still a long ways to go. We've been lucky here in London lying just below the line where the rain turned into freezing rain. Most of our snow has melted but there's a chill back in the air, a fine snow falling and a brisk wind blowing once again. Happy New Year to you Marguerite - I'll be with girlfriends tonight seeing 2014 in with a laugh!
