Happy Holidays

Christmas feels a little odd this year.  No snow on the ground, lots of rain.  It was 13 degrees on Christmas Day.  No snow shoes or skis.  Mittens rendered unnecessary.

This is the only snowman I've seen so far this year
It was a busy December with long hours of work for both of us.  On Christmas Eve we collapsed on the couch to eat ridiculous amounts of chocolate and watch movies.

the couch is otherwise occupied in this shot but we did get a chance to sit down eventually
Kittens made decorating anything under four feet close to impossible.  Instead we chose a table top tree and a string of cards on high.

Lights were inadvisable since strings of any sort are highly sought after and longing to be chewed.  Not to mention kittens can climb curtains with ease.

decorations high up on cabinet tops
Despite the changes it's been a lovely holiday and I hope everyone is enjoying this winter reprieve as much as we are.  Many good wishes to you all and blessings in the new year from all of us here on the corner.

We have had unusually mild weather through Christmas too. It made traveling to family celebrations easy. It is good to hear you had a good holiday. I hope your new year comes through as nice. Happy and Healthy New Year to you...

The mild weather here felt weird for Christmas, but we still had a lovely time, and glad you did, too, Marguerite. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2015. P. x

The kittens look like they have found their comfort zone. So cute.
It was strange not having a white Christmas and so mild. Last year we had lots of snow and very cold temps. The plus side is we all should be saving on our heating bills.
I'm glad to hear you had a relaxing holiday because Christmas really is a busy/stressful time for some.
Wishing you, hubby and the kittens all the best in the coming New Year.

Happy New Year Lisa! we appreciated the clear roads as well. Nice to not have to worry about winter driving.

Happy New Year Janneke. Pets surely do bring a lot of joy to our lives. The temperature has dipped here now and it's starting to feel more like winter. Although still no snow yet.

Happy New Year to you too Pam! No matter the weather the holiday is always wonderful isn't it?

they are definitely comfortable! and they've latched onto that old Funnyface like glue. He's their favourite buddy, always trying to wrestle him and jump on his tail. He puts up with their antics amazingly well. Last year was so drastically different, I think that's why it feels so weird this year. I keep expecting the mountains of snow to arrive. All the best to you and yours in the new year.

We haven't had any snow either, and I was really glad when it finally stopped raining. Your kittens are so cute, even if you had to make accommodations for them in your decorating. I remember the year I had to set the Christmas tree upright and re-decorate it at least three times thanks to an acrobatic cat:) I hope you get more time to relax this holiday season. A belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

Isn't it too weird without snow Marguerite ? .. we have had two mornings of heavy frost .. no snow to protect the garden of course .. kind of scary!
I remember the drape climbing kitten stages .. OMG ! LOL
They all look adorable .. you are becoming that strange couple with all the cats now .. hehehe ... just kidding girl !
Hope you guys have a great New Year and enjoy it to the hilt !
Best wishes !!

Unlike you we have has snow unbelievable after such a mild winter so far. The kittens sound as if they are a handful - adorable all the same. Wishing you all the very best for a wonderful 2015.

my great-nephew is settling in a black and white rescue kitten - she has him wrapped around her tiny paw!
Wish you all a very happy new year!

No snow here in London either, but we have had a brief spell of cold weather, almost down to freezing. Nice to see the kittens are enjoying Christmas – and the decoration, that’s what Christmas is for :-) Happy New year to you and yours and all the best for 2015!

Happy new year to you Rose! I concede the kittens really are adorable. Despite the trail of wreckage they leave behind them
;-)

They are growing so quickly, hard to believe they will be adults soon enough.

We finally got a sprinkling yesterday!! Still not a real snowfall but at least it feels like winter now. I don't need 5 feet of the stuff but it really did feel weird without it. how long does the climbing curtain stage last?? I have a feeling they'll be in shreds before too long. Have a wonderful new year and best wishes for you to come.

They are an adorable handful Elaine :) hard to get mad when they're so darn cute but oh do they make a mess. Happy New Year!

They do it with ease don't they? Just one look from those sweet little faces and I can forgive the fact that they knocked over 4 houseplants and scratched the couch. Happy new year to you too!

Happy new years to you too Helene! it's just not Christmas without a few decorations is it? Glad I was able to find a few things I could keep out of reach from the little guys.

When I was a kid our cat climbed the Christmas tree and the whole thing collapsed. It was a huge, funny mess. :o) Happy New Year!

Your kitten-challenged Christmas made me smile! I'm glad you had a lovely time despite the necessary adjustments. I hope 2015 brings you - and your kittens - lots of good things. But no snow?! That's unbelievable! I rely on your blog for snowy winter wonderland pictures!

LOL; how nice to have kitties that keep your place warm for you until you have a chance to sit down and relax! As far as the weather is concerned, be careful what you wish for: Here comes the cold. -Jean

What a great memory Tammy. Did you parents do a lot of yelling that day? ;-) Happy new year to you too!

It really was rather odd having no snow. But we're starting to make up for it now. I promise there will be snowy pictures at some point this winter. It is Canada after all.

You said it Jean and boy has winter ever come. Not a lot of snow but the temperature is FRIGID. Furnace is working overtime right now to keep us from freezing. Not sure if you've had the wind we have but yikes, it makes things downright uncomfortable. Here's to a new year with an early spring and a nice warm summer.
