Well, maybe it's not the star of the video but it caught my eye! and yes, that stereo is pretty nifty too. Plants are generally my priority but interior design is another hot topic in this house so I thought I would share hubby's latest creation. Hifi is on display this weekend at the Interior Design Show in Toronto. If you're in the area you can check out this latest design in person or you can visit Jody's website at Modern Revision

Cool! That is so neat!
I love the design of the hifi!! And your Aloe Vera did a great job in her supporting role *round of applause* !!
Such a unique design and of course, wireless fun.
Sage - thank you, I was pretty impressed myself. He is such a creative person.
Christine - LOL, only a gardener would notice the plant in the corner wouldn't they?
Donna - very fun, I can change the music from any room in the house with the computer pad. Was a little sad to see it go to Toronto but it was time to let the world see it too.
I can't seem to watch the video, but at least now I can load your blog, and leave a comment.
It's been a bad bloggy day, I tell you, can't seem to load any blogs, or comment.

Dear Marguerite, I can see why you were sorry to see it go. Love the plant! P.x
Hubby's pretty talented for sure. Does he do garden art.?
Holy moly, I am impressed - I love it!
Such talent in the house!
:)
OMG ! Marguerite !!!
I am totally in love with this "HiFi" .. I want one for my office (when I get it ? maybe this year) .. it is totally beautiful .. is it sold commercially ? and wow on your aloe Vera becoming part of the YouTube world girl ! LOL
Joy
Jen, hang in there. You'll be in the new house soon with a proper internet connection and desk and all will be well.
Pam - it was pretty fun while it lasted but maybe it will have a new home soon and we'll have some money to fix the roof. That would be nice :)
Jodi - the downside of having a talented person like him around is that nothing ever gets done for me!! LOL I'm still waiting for the renovations in our living room to be finished 6 months later.
Thanks Kim, I'll pass that on to him.
Joy - at this point it's a unique design (took months to build by hand) but from what I've been hearing numerous people at the show were inquiring about producing it in large numbers. So that may be a possibility in the future.
I love that you use the word "hifi"! I love how Jody has added the curving wooden legs - perfection!
Marguerite, How nice to have all that talent in the family!
I don't know if you've seen the Versatile Blogger award going around (or perhaps have already been so honored). Anyway, I've named you as one of my "versatile bloggers." You can learn more here: http://jeansgarden.wordpress.com/2012/01/29/versatility/
No Pressure on this; I am not offended at all if people choose to ignore these awards. -Jean
That is a very cool Hi-Fi system, really like it. Love Norah Jones too. ;-) Just got Little Willies new CD
So completely awesome! The stereo, the aloe, the video!
Jane - yes the design changed quite a bit from when you saw this. Jody just was not 100% happy with the original base and hanging on the wall wasn't quite right either. I agree, he finally hit the perfect base with these legs.
Thanks so much for the vote Jean!
Janet - I haven't listened to Norah Jones in ages but we spent a lot of time testing various songs that showed the range of the speakers. It was fun to go through all our old music!
Aagaard Farms - thanks so much. I feel like a proud parent showing off my kids handiwork. Didn't he do good? LOL
That is cool. I like my audio stuff hidden, but its still cool.
Oooh, I want, I want, I want!!! Gorgeous HiFi - what a talented man. And thanks for the reminder that I really like Bruce Cockburn, haven't heard that track for years.
I WANT THIS!! Very, very cool :)
Jess - I can't stand the look of equipment in a house myself. tvs and stereos aren't very pretty looking - it's a metal box, yuck! that's partly what inspired this cabinet. It has all the new high tech functionality but has some style to it too.
Janet - one of my favourite songs! It was fun choosing music to demonstrate this piece.
Kate - so glad to hear you like it. There's been some really great feedback which has been nice for Jody to hear after working so long on this project.
SO COOL!!!! He played some of my favorite music and the stereo is incredible!!! I was waiting for the aloe to start dancing!!
Awesome :0) I love it and the aloe. I had one once that I nearly killed a million times. Finally gave it to a friend. House plants and I don't mix well.
Hi Marguerite, That hifi is definitely a scene stealer, but your aloe vera might still get a nomination for best supporting role!
Love the Bruce Coburn song, takes me back in time. And the HiFi is great! love the design. What did he use to stream music from the ipad to the speakers?
Tammy - another Bruce Cockburn fan?! amazing how there are a few of us who share the same tastes in music.
Johanna- I'm not that great with houseplants either but the aloe loves that I completely ignore it. I've never had a plant do so well.
Jennifer - LOL, Jody should have brought the aloe to the design show with him to show off.
Melanie - unfortunately the small video screen doesn't seem to be showing the subtitles that were in the video to explain. Hifi isn't just speakers, although they are the most obvious part. There is actually a stereo there as well. It's housed in the rectangular piece attaching the speakers to the legs. See that round glass circle in the front? That's it. Tiny I know. It uses Bluetooth to send a remote signal which you can pick up with your phone, pad, laptop, etc. Isn't technology just amazing these days?
A true work of art, and the aloe is pretty too ;) I had to laugh, I haven't seen the word hifi in years...maybe someday I'll say that about 'iPod'? LOL.
What a cool stereo! Your husband is certainly talented, especially when I read your explanation of how this works. My husband can't even figure out all the buttons on the TV remote:) Your aloe vera is the perfect accent for the hifi.
I'm a little late getting here but better late than never, right? That is an awesome looking stereo. Kudos to the hubster. Great job.
Hey that is cool! :)
Clare - this was definitely meant as a throwback to another time. Jody was really fixated on how we've lost the beauty of a stereo as a piece of furniture.
Rose - thank you but the stereo itself wasn't built by him (he has trouble with the remote too sometimes!) The company who makes the actual mechanics is Chordette. He simply took their stereo and designed a cabinet to make it aesthetically pleasing.
Michelle - good to see you! hope all has been well.
Melanie - hubby keeps saying, why has it taken this long to invent this? Who wants to bother downloading music from one device to another to play it. This makes things so much easier.
