A Prince Edward Island Heritage Site

We have been a few places this past week and seen a few sights.  One of the places we visited was Orwell Corner which is a historical village from the 1890's.  This restored settlement includes a general store, church and school.  Demonstrations are held at the blacksmith shop and in the working barns. While we visited candle making was being demonstrated and the horses were busy moving manure from the barn to the field.  Picnic benches are set out for those who want to bring a lunch or you can enjoy the air conditioning of the museum.  (It's been HOT this week!)

The Orwell school house

There are working barns filled with animals.

Not to be missed was the gardens!

Plenty of places to sit and relax for a moment or two.

I love it! I could definitely waste the day there! It's a perfect storm, gardens, heritage and animals! What more could you want?

Beautiful! I can't wait to bring my little son there.

Good for you for taking the time to be a tourist in your new found home province. You will really appreciate it all the more. PEI has so much natural beauty.

@Laura, my father didn't want to leave. We only had a couple hours and then we had to meet the rest of the family for another outing and I had to drag him away. Definitely a place you should plan to spend the whole day at!

@Ms.S, are you planning a trip? I'll be posting a few more sites we visited throughout the week but if you have any questions feel free to ask. If I remember correctly you've been here before though haven't you?
